I thought Digg is the most popular site people use, but after looking into the list of top 50 sites of the year I come to know that I was totally wrong. Digg is almost gone from the list and same as with Technorati.
Found that Flicker is the top most popular site of the year 2009. Top 10 sites are listed below:

I think getting a good ranking in GOOGLE is not very much difficult as in YAHOO. There is always a question from web owners “How to get good ranking in Yahoo?” 
On 2nd June 2009, Yahoo announced about their “Search Index Updates“. They said;
“We’re rolling out some updates to our crawling, indexing, and ranking algorithms over the next few days. During this process, you may see some ranking changes and page shuffling in the index.“
As written above soon they are going to introduce new updates in their Searching index. We all are excited what will be the results of those updates and what all changes are going to be made by Yahoo in their Ranking Algorithms. I hope it will be better for all.
