Backlinks plays a very essential part for a website. Backlinks are those sites which are linked with your site or can say those sites which are having your links on it. Backlinks also known as inbound link, incoming links or inward links. The number of backlinks decides the importance or the popularity of a site on net. We can assume the votings for a site with the help of these backlinks.

Search engines also manage the ranking of a site with the help of a site’s backlinks. I have tried so many SEO tools to find out the backlinks of a site. Most of the times it happens that these tools shows more backlinks than what Google shows. This is only because these tools shows all the sites on which your links are visible but if you search your backlinks on google (link:http://yourdomain.com) than it will show only the quality backlinks which google has determine as quality sites. You can get more and more backlinks with the help of Organic SEO. Only organic SEO can bring you the quality and longterm backlinks.

  2. Does the sub domains count? I mean like my blog is http://themeanbitch.net. but I also have other blogs on that domain but they are all sub domains. The links on the blogs which are on the sub domains are counted as back links and treated as different sites or will it be considered as a one big website? Sorry, I’m completely new to this SEO concept.
